Emacs guided tour

Phil Sung's A guided tour of Emacs is now up on the Emacs homepage at gnu.org. It's a nice introduction to the many faces of Emacs and it also shows off several new features in Emacs 22.

By the way, if you were wondering why emacs-snapshot isn't being updated in sid anymore, it's because it's now maintained outside Debian; I asked for its removal from the archive a while ago.

Hi, thanks for your work on emacs-snapshot. Do you plan to package the Unicode-2 branch as well? I tried it out, and the AA-Fonts look really nice on my TFT.

The unicode-2 branch will be merged in the trunk after the Emacs 22.1 release -- emacs-snapshot currently follows the release branch, but it'll be back to the trunk after the release too, so you'll get the XFT code then.

Unfortunately, it seems that only the younger ones of us will live long enough to see the release date. :-(
